Zola the Muse

Friday night, M and I went out to Coo Bar. What fun. The dj must have had some kind of sixth sense or something because every single song we heard was amazing. And then this came on:

I’d never even heard of Zola Jesus prior to Friday, and it was one of the songs we had to try and catch on Shazaam before it ended. M, being who he is, made sure that the song was in my library by…today. Zola Jesus is my Tuesday Muse. She’s lovely, ethereal, angelic and…yes…those super dark eyebrows work on her! The white, the smoke, the fishbone braid and hair all knotted up. It’s all lovely. Here are some other looks that inspire:

This is if you’re into the dark goth thing…I mean…I enjoy that she’s standing next to the water in the photo on the right…like a crow…

Here we’re more on the casual tip…busy singing and stuff…

Gorgeous.

This doesn’t look very comfortable, but it doesn’t matter. She looks beautiful.

Strong and decadent.

Here she is playing a show at the Guggenheim, in a dress that lights up. Really? I don’t think it gets any better than this. Where do they plug something like that in? Is there a risk of electrical shock? In any case…it seems all went swimmingly, without a hitch. Bravo. Kudos. Well done. Keep it up. Tuesday Muse. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more from you, Zola Jesus.

Until soon,

H
