Greeks Do It Better: V Society

Vaida Pilelyte founded the relatively new brand V Society in 2011.  The Lithuanian-born designer spent several years in London before deciding to make coastal Athens her home—and the home of her label.  Of her influences, Pilelyte says, “My sense of fashion has been immensely influenced by London’s timeless class and sophistication however it is in Greece where I matured for simplicity”.  Her fabric of choice is silk (a personal favorite) and her designs combine minimalism and femininity in a way that creates a timeless elegance.

Here’s a taste of V Society’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection:

The Greek influence is clear in her designs.  The colors and lines reflect the hues and architecture found in many coastal towns and islands here in Greece.  I wish I could have worn a few of these pieces during my wanderings in the Cyclades.  They would have matched perfectly with my surroundings in Serifos a couple of summers ago, don’t you think?

In case you want more (I know I do), here are some looks from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Until soon,

E
