Visiting with F over the weekend proved as inspiring as always. What a treat. Lots of food and laughter and wine on the one hand…and then up early enough the next morning for a photoshoot, run, and delightful lunch – whipped up for me by F and her K.
The inspiration for the shoot came from this website/blog F showed me. Ladiesrun.gr. I love it because they find women who run, interview them, photograph them, and feature them on their site. They post articles about things like: marathons, smoothie recipes, proper stretching, footwear, and other stuff that runners think about from time to time.
Let’s face it. There are days I’m not even a little motivated to move. I know that all it takes is lacing up the shoes and leaving. I know that the best runs happen on days I want it the least. Only runners know what I mean by this.
But it’s not always easy to make that move. Sometimes you need the extra push. On days like that, you log onto the website and check out the women featured. Scroll through their photos, read the reasons they run – surely you’ll find inspiration that’ll get your ass moving in no time. Works for me.
Only thing is…the website’s all in Greek. If you don’t know how to read Greek, then the photos will have to do. 😉
And if these girls don’t do it for you, here are a couple of photos from the shoot F and I did together. We run because we have legs, because it makes us feel alive, because it makes us smile. We run because of how we feel post-run. It’s addictive. We’ve already done two races together, and now we’re hoping to do the Thessaloniki half-marathon in October. Lots of training ahead. Lots of kilometers to look forward to this summer. I can’t wait.
